Growth parameters like head circumference and increase in length are documented Common neonatal problems like colic, spitting etc. are identified and treated Neuro - developmental followupNormal milestone achievements of babies are assessed at regular intervals and any delays or deviations identified Appropriate interventions like early developmental interventions are planned in affected babies Paediatric vaccinationVaccinations are given from birth till ages of 18 years according to the national guidelines with appropriate discussion with parents. Paediatric nutritionExclusive breastfeeding is ensured by counselling of mothers in the immediate postnatal period Breastfeeding issues like inverted nipple, sore nipple, counselling for working mothers are undertaken Obesity risk factors are identified and appropriate counselling given. Common problems like fussy eating. Picky eaters, poor weight gain , iron deficiency anemia, vitamin deficiency, diet during diarrhoea and other illnesses are explained to parents. Weaning food are discussed with parents at completion of 6 months for the baby in a culturally acceptable manner. Paediatric infectionsCommon infections like upper and lower respiratory infections, acute watery diarrhea, malaria, typhoid , dengue are identified and managed. Other uncommon infections and immune deficiency states are identified and managed MiscellaneousOther common paediatric problems like childhood asthma, allergies, congenital heart problems, simple febrile seizures are also managed.
